Delete your MealBright account

You can delete your MealBright account at any time, from the app or by emailing us.

In the app

1. Open MealBright on your phone, or go to app.mealbright.app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings, then Your data.
3. Tap Delete my account, and confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away.

By email

If you no longer have the app, email support@mealbright.app from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We'll confirm it's you, delete it within 7 days, and reply when it's done.

If you have MealBright Plus

Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it first where you bought it: in the App Store on an iPhone, or in Google Play on Android.

What is deleted

• If you're the only person in your household: everything. Your account, your recipes, photos, meal plans, grocery lists, notes, ratings, diets and allergies, settings, and any connected store account.
• If others share your household: your account, sign-ins, ratings, diet and allergy settings, and any linked Apple or Google sign-in. The recipes, plans and lists you added stay for the rest of your household, shown as from a "Former member". To remove those too, delete them in the app before deleting your account.

What is kept, and for how long

• Backups: copies in our database backups are removed as those backups expire.
• Server logs: our hosting provider keeps request logs for a short time and deletes them automatically. They never contain your recipes.
• Purchase records: Apple and Google keep their own records of a subscription you bought, under their privacy policies.

Delete some of your data, and keep your account

You don't have to delete your account to remove things from MealBright. In the app:

• A recipe: open it, tap More actions, then Delete recipe.
• A photo: open the recipe, tap More actions, then Remove photo.
• Meals, grocery items and notes: swipe or tap to remove them where they are.
• Diets and allergies: Settings, then Meal planning, then Diet and allergies. Clear anything you no longer want saved.
• A Kroger account: Settings, then Stores, then Disconnect.

A recipe you delete is hidden straight away, and kept until you delete your account so a mistake can be put right. A removed photo is deleted from storage 30 days later. To have deleted recipes, or anything else, removed for good without deleting your account, email support@mealbright.app and say what you'd like removed. We'll do it within 7 days and reply when it's done.
